SUMMARY:A multiwavelength look into the common evolution of luminous quasar
s and their host-galaxies
DESCRIPTION:A multiwavelength look into the common evolution of luminous qu
asars and their host-galaxies\nDr. Manuela Bischetti\n\nThis talk will be
dedicated to luminous (LBol~1E47 erg/s),high-redshift quasars, which are i
deal targets to investigate (i) feedbackfrom SMBHs, and (ii) the early gro
wth phases of giant galaxies. I willpresent evidence of SMBH-driven
outflows at all Cosmic epochs, back tothe early Universe. These outf
lows involve all gas phases (molecular, neutral, ionised) and extend on nuc
lear to galactic and circum-galacticscales. I will report on the first sys
tematic study of the molecular gasproperties in the host-galaxies of the m
ost luminous quasars, fundamentalto probe the impact of SMBH feedback on t
he host-galaxy evolution. I willshow that luminous quasars pinpoint high-d
ensity sites where giant galaxiesassemble, and I will discuss the major co
ntribution of mergers to the finalgalaxy mass. To this aim, I will present
a wealth of multi-wavelength (UVto sub-millimeter) observations from the
WISE/SDSS hyper-luminous quasarssurvey at z~2-5 (WISSH), and recent
results from the ESO large programXQR-30, the Ultimate X-SHOOTER Legacy Su
rvey of Quasars at the Reionizationepoch.\n
