Fifth edition of the conference AO4ELT

Next Sunday, June 25, begins the V edition of the conference on “Adaptive Optics for Extremely Large Telescopes” (AO4ELT5), organized by the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands (IAC). The conference will be an international meeting point for nearly 300 specialists in this technique, whose development and implementation will be one of the biggest challenges in building giant telescopes.

It will consist of 11 thematic blocks, three poster sessions and a special session dedicated to gender equality policies in the Adaptive Optics scientific community. Its participants will have the opportunity to visit the Teide Observatory (Izaña, Tenerife) on Wednesday, June 28, as well as the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory (Garafía, La Palma) on Saturday, July 1.

In addition, the IAC will be hosting the 12th Annual Workshop on Laser Technology and Systems for Astronomical Adaptive Optics, a two-day workshop that will be held on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th of June, 2017, in the IAC headquarters at La Laguna, Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.
