ESTALLIDOS Meeting on Star Formation Feedback

The Severo Ochoa - Jesús Serra Foundation visitors Prof. Debra Elmegreen, Prof. Bruce Elmegreen, and Prof. Guillermo Tenorio-Tagle participate on a five-days meeting organized by the ESTALLIDOS collaboration, entitled "SF feedback: triggering and outcome at galactic scales".

Start date: 10 Nov, 2014 - 9:30
End date: 14 Nov, 2014 - 19:30
Location: Pleyades Room, IAC Headquarters, Tenerife
Organizer: Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias

The main goals of the meeting are: 1. to understand the premises and treatment of negative star formation (SF) feedback employed in cosmological models of galaxy formation and evolution; 2. to present and discuss the positive SF feedback model (genesis, advances, observations and predictions); 3. to be aware of the most updated observational results concerning starburst galaxies at different redshifts and their physical conditions; and 4. to be able to define (common) strategies for theory and observations. The Meeting is also attended by the Advanced Severo Ochoa Fellow Claudio Dalla Vecchia and the Severo Ochoa Postdoc Mike Beasley.
