Tenerife hosts the II International Conference on "Thermal Models in Planetary Science"
Puerto de la Cruz, in Tenerife, will host the conference Thermal Models in Planetary Science II (TherMoPS II) from June 3 to 5, 2015, which has been organized by the IAC and sponsored by the NASA Center for Lunar and Asteroid Surface Science (CLASS). Javier Licandro, Advanced SO Fellow until May 2014 and now a staff researcher at the IAC, is one of the organizers.

Outreach Conference by Rafael Rebolo
On Tuesday May 26, Rafael Rebolo, Director of IAC and Scientific Director of the Severo Ochoa Program in the IAC, will present a lecture entitled "The Canarian Observatories and exploration of the Universe" at the Planetarium of Madrid, within the Conference series "Light and Astronomy", held on the occasion of the International Year of Light, in collaboration with the Obra Social la Caixa and the European Space Agency (ESA). "IAC Journal Club" meeting with Ortwin Gerhard
On Thursday April 23rd, the SO visitor Prof. Ortwin Gerhard, from the Max-Planck-Institut für Extraterrestrische Physik (Germany), will participate in a meeting of the IAC Journal Club as an invited expert. He will present scientific papers featuring his research line, "Formation and Evolution of Galaxies", which will be discussed during the meeting.

"Exploring the Universe" with the IAC in Las Palmas
On Wednesday April 15th, as was done on February 25th at the Teatro Leal of La Laguna, the Guiniguada Theatre (Teatro Guiniguada) of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will host a scientific outreach event entitled "Exploring the Universe", in which the director of the IAC, Rafael Rebolo, and other researchers and science communicators of the center will present a tour to the Universe, from the most distant galaxies to our star, the Sun, highlighting the research carried out in the IAC and in its observatories. Admission will be free on a "first-come first-served' basis.
