"IAC Journal Club" meeting with Ortwin Gerhard

On Thursday April 23rd, the SO visitor Prof. Ortwin Gerhard, from the Max-Planck-Institut für Extraterrestrische Physik (Germany), will participate in a meeting of the IAC Journal Club as an invited expert. He will present scientific papers featuring his research line, "Formation and Evolution of Galaxies", which will be discussed during the meeting.

The paper proposed for discussion with prof. Gerhard will be "The build-up of the cD halo of M87 - evidence for accretion in the last Gyr" (co-author Dr. Gerhard).  

Dr. Claudio Dalla Vecchia, Advanced Severo Ochoa Fellow, will also present and discuss the paper "The behaviour of dark matter associated with 4 bright cluster galaxies in the 10kpc core of Abell 3827" .
