Meeting on Fundamental Cosmology

Rafael Rebolo and José Alberto Rubiño, Scientific Director and Advanced Fellow of the Severo Ochoa Program respectively, are part of the Scientific Organizing Commitee of a Meeting on Fundamental Cosmology.

Start date: 5 Jun, 2014 - 8:45
End date: 6 Jun, 2014 - 18:30
Location: Barceló Fuerteventura Thalasso Spa Hotel, Fuerteventura.
Organizer: Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias

The main goal of the conference is to provide a forum for discussing and reviewing, on a yearly basis, all the current and upcoming large survey projects in Physical Cosmology in which the Spanish community is involved, allowing also interactions with those groups working in observational and theoretical aspects, numerical simulations, instrumentation or other Spanish networks on Astrophysics and Astro-particle physics. This forum should allow the identification of challenges and opportunities for the future.

During this two-days workshop the latest results on CMB experiments (Planck, QUIJOTE, Core-PRISM), the status of the large scale structure surveys in which the Spanish community is involved (BOSS, eBOSS, DESI, DES, PAU, J-PAS, WEAVE, EUCLID), and the recent developments in the theory side (large scale structure theory, neutrinos, inflation, state-of-the-art numerical simulations) will be discussed and reviewed. The Advanced Severo Ochoa Fellow J. A. Rubiño will present the study of Cosmology with galaxy clusters in the CMB observations session.
