Astronomers find a nearby system of exoplanets with a potentially inhabitable world

An international group of scientists, led by researchers from the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias, used data from several ground-based observatories to confirm the presence of a planet detected by the TESS satellite and, in the process, discovered two additional worlds. The newly discovered planets orbit the red dwarf star GJ 357, about 31 light-years away.
